Purim Project Fundraising

Purim Project Fundraising

In our ongoing mission to improve our services to Chabad.org customers it is our pleasure to announce a partnership with Purim Project (www.purimproject.com).

Purim Project is a Woodbridge, Connecticut based company servicing synagogues and schools throughout the United States and Europe, providing an advanced and comprehensive website to enable Purim fundraising projects, also known as Mishloach Manot projects.  These fundraisers have proven to be key annual projects to many Chabad communities around the world, raising significant funds and serving as terrific community builders.

The Purim Project service allows members to login to your website with a username and password, to be presented with a listing of all the members in the community and select who they want to send their Mishloach Manot greetings to.  Purim Project also offers a separate administrator website that allows admins to configure their options, including member information, pricing, online surveys and much more (click here for more information on how this program works).

Purim Project is a pioneer in fundraising tools for the Jewish community, offering easy to use yet powerful software.  Their support services are top grade and their customer satisfaction, which they track regularly, is excellent.

Chabad.org and Purim Project have jointly developed a website that Chabad.org customers can use within the Chabad.org website framework, enabling easy registration and a quick startup.  Also, users can login into Purim Project from within your Chabad.org website and make their selections.

Purim Project has committed to a special discount for all Chabad.org customers.  Contact us to register as a new customer, or to upgrade your existing account with Purim Project to enable administration within Chabad.org.

How does the Purim Project fundraiser work?

While an actual demo is advised for those unfamiliar with the fundraiser, following is a brief description of the basic fundraiser concept:

Step 1:  A few weeks before Purim all families receive a member-list along with instructions.  Unique usernames and passwords are provided for those that can access your website via your chabad.org webpage.

Step 2: Families select their friends from the member list and send each a unique personal greeting, such as: “Happy Purim… and Mazal Tov on the birth of your son!”  Each name selected will “cost” a designated amount (e.g. $5).  Upon completion the member will be asked to forward the total sum for their selection to the administrator of the project.  Payments will be made to you via credit card or check, based on your preference.

Step 3:  On Purim day you will assemble a Mishloach Manot basket for each family.  Only one per family.  Along with each of these baskets you’ll include a card (or letter) comprised of greetings from all other families that have selected the recipient (in step 2 above).  You will compile these cards directly from the Purim Project program.

What does the service cost?

Purim Project offers a discounted price for Chabad.org customers at 2.75% of funds raised.  There is no upfront payment for the service.
